Wilmington Police arrest two people following traffic stop

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Two people have been arrested following a traffic stop in Wilmington.

Police say they stopped a vehicle Tuesday at S. 10th and Meares Street, locating crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

The driver, 44-year-old Robert Vernon, was taken into custody and has been charged with Possession Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving While License Revoked.

He was given a $5,000 secured bond.

The passenger in the vehicle, 40-year-old Regina Beatty, has been charged with RDO (Resist, delay and obstruct) and Probation Violation.

She received a $11,000 secured bond.

Both are being held at the NHCSO Detention Center.
