WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Each year, the Wilmington Police Department participates in National Night Out. It’s a chance for the community to connect with law enforcement in a fun way.

The event features giveaways and free toys, patrol vehicles and specialized units, the K-9 Unit and Mounted Unit, and a meet and greet with officers from The CW’s Police 24/7.

“What it’s designed to do is bring law enforcement, the community, and other community partners together, and it’s about people connecting with one another,” said Police Chief Donny Williams.

This year’s event will take place on Tuesday, August 6th from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at The Pointe 14.
