Wilmington Police Cop Camp returns for summer 2026

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department is bringing back its longtime Cop Camp program for summer 2026, offering local youth a free opportunity to connect with officers through hands-on activities and educational experiences.
The program, which has been running since 1995, is designed to foster positive relationships between children and law enforcement while providing a mix of recreation, field trips, and community service.
This year’s sessions include a five-day camp from July 6–10 for current third and fourth graders, and a shorter “Junior Academy” from July 20–22 for current fifth and sixth graders. The Junior Academy features a similar format with more advanced, age-appropriate activities.
Organizers say space is limited and expected to fill quickly. Families can find more information and register through the City of Wilmington’s website.
