Wilmington Police Department investigating shooting, no injuries reported
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department is investigating a shooting from Sunday afternoon.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area of W. Lake Shore Drive and Walden Drive, the suspects left the scene prior to their arrival.
Multiple callers reported hearing shots and seeing two vehicles possibly shooting at each other.
WPD located shell casings in the roadway and located a dark red sedan, which was believed to be involved as it was struck by gunfire.
The vehicle was towed to WPD headquarters, and a search warrant was executed.
No injuries have been reported at this time, and no guns or related evidence were found inside the vehicle.
