UPDATE: WPD say man charged with murder after shooting investigation

Update:

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department arrested a Wilmington man who allegedly shot his wife on Friday.

According to the police department, 58-year-old Michael Loyde went to a residence in the 600 block of Bladen Street and shot and killed his wife, Ebony Boyles. Then Loyde fled the scene.

The Wilmington Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division and Gun Crimes Unit, alongside the SBI worked to track down the suspect. Loyde was spotted on Castle Street around 10:30 p.m. and attempted to flee law enforcement but was quickly taken into custody.

 

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Friday afternoon.

WPD says they were dispatched around 3:30 p.m. to a residence in the 600 block of Bladen Street.

Officers located a female victim inside suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to Novant Medical Center by EMS.

This is an ongoing investigation, and more details will be released when we have them.
