Wilmington Police Department responds to call of suspicious package

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — At 2:30 Wednesday afternoon the Wilmington Police Department responded to a call of a suspicious package.
Upon arrival, officers found a partially opened briefcase containing items inside in front of a business on at 341 S. College Road. The briefcase was not open enough for a thorough investigation of its contents.
Out of caution, members of the WPD bomb unit responded to the scene. After inspecting the briefcase, an empty cylindrical container and several CO2 containers were discovered.
They determined there was no threat.
