Wilmington Police identify body found in retention pond near Pine Valley Library
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – Wilmington Police have identified the body found Wednesday in a retention pond near the Pine Valley Branch of the New Hanover County Public Library.
Detectives confirmed the decedent as 51-year-old Devin Gwinn of Wilmington. Police say foul play is not suspected, though the investigation is ongoing. An autopsy will be performed to determine the official cause of death.
Officers responded around 10:48 a.m. Wednesday after library patrons reported seeing clothing on the bank and a body floating in the water.
The Pine Valley Branch was temporarily closed on Wednesday and has since reopened.
