Wilmington Police investigating 2 early morning armed robberies

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police said they’re looking for two men in connection with two armed robberies this morning.

The first was reported just after 4 a.m. at the Scotchman in the 900-block of South Third Street. Police said a man with a handgun took money and cigarettes before running away from the scene. The man was described as a black male in his 20s with a slim build, wearing zebra-striped pants and a baseball cap.

The second armed robbery was reported at the Han-Dee Hugo’s in the 5000-block of Market Street just after 5 a.m. Police said a man told the clerk he had a gun and took money. Police said that suspect was described as a black male around 20 years old, about 5’7″ and wearing a black hoodie with writing.

Police are in the process of getting surveillance images. Anyone with information is urged to call police.
