Wilmington Police investigating hit-and-run involving moped

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that happened early Wednesday morning at the intersection of Market Street and North 16th Street.

Around 3:40 a.m., officers responded to reports of a collision involving a moped and another vehicle. When officers arrived, they found that the moped rider had been hit by a vehicle that left the scene.

The victim was taken by EMS for treatment.

Investigators believe the suspect vehicle is a gray, mid-size SUV that likely has windshield damage.
