Wilmington Police investigating shooting on Evans Street

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating a shooting that happened on Evans Street just before noon Tuesday morning.

A victim with life-threatening injuries was taken to the hospital.

The suspect reportedly barricaded themselves in a nearby home.

The Crisis Negotiation Team tried to make contact with the suspect.

After getting no response, a robot was sent in, then followed by officers who went inside and found no one there.

A police department spokesman says they are still looking for the suspect.
