Wilmington Police makes multiple arrests in unrelated crimes

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department has made multiple arrests in unrelated crimes.
On Friday, WPD detectives executed a search warrant in relation to a shooting that occurred on October 15th on March Court.
19-year-old Tyshaun Windham of Wilmington was taken into custody on separate felony warrants, and 42-year-old Dwayne Ingram was arrested for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon after attempting to conceal a handgun while officers were on the scene, police say.
Police say Windham was determined to be responsible for the shooting events that led to the victim being struck by gunfire, and was subsequently charged with Attempted Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, Carrying a Concealed Weapon-Gun, Going Armed to Terror of the Public, and Discharging a Firearm in the City Limits.
Windham is being held at the New Hanover County Detention Center without bond and Ingram is being held on a $500,000 secure bond.
Additional arrests are expected in this case.
“As I have said before, we are not going to tolerate gun violence,” said Chief Donny Williams. “Our agency will bend over backwards to arrest individuals who commit criminal activity.”
In an unrelated incident, WPD officers were patrolling the 800 block of Queen Street on November 18th around 2:30 p.m. when they say they observed a suspicious subject in a vehicle. Upon encountering the man, they detected the smell of marijuana. A subsequent vehicle search located a pistol concealed in the back floorboard.
24-year-old Brandon Turner of Wilmington was arrested and is charged with Felony Carry Concealed Weapon-Gun. He is being held without bond at the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
In a separate incident later that morning around 3:00 a.m., WPD units responded to several calls regarding a man walking around on N. Front Street brandishing an AR weapon. As units arrived, the suspect fled toward the riverwalk. Officers observed the suspect and were able to take him into custody without further incident. 25-year-old Isaiah Scott Sargeant of Currie, N.C. was found to be in possession of two loaded AR magazines. He also provided a description of where he had placed his weapon. Officers say they recovered the AR pistol nearby.
Sargeant has been charged with Going Armed to the Terror of the Public, Carry Concealed Weapon-Gun, Communicating Threats, and Assault by Pointing a Gun. He was given a $15,000 secure bond.
In an unrelated incident, Saturday night around 10 p.m. WPD units stopped a vehicle for a stop sign violation in the 200 block of S. 6th Street. As they were approaching the vehicle they heard the distinct sound of an AR-15 bolt racking and police say they immediately removed and detained the two occupants. One AR-15 was observed wedged between the passenger seat and center console and a second was located concealed in the back seat. Loaded magazines were also located in the vehicle.
The driver, 20-year-old Christopher Green, was cited for Carrying a Concealed Weapon-Gun and Stop Sign Violation.
