WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) –Wilmington police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect and two vehicles of interest in connection with a weekend shooting on Carolina Beach Road that left one man with life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are seeking to identify a man shown in these surveillance photos. Police consider him a suspect and say they would like to speak with him about the incident.

Investigators also identified two vehicles seen in a nearby parking lot as vehicles of interest.

The shooting happened just after 9:15 p.m. Saturday in the 3700 block of Carolina Beach Road. When officers arrived, they located a man who had been shot.

First responders rendered aid before EMS transported the victim to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment. Police said he sustained serious, life-threatening injuries.

The suspect ran off before officers arrived.
