Wilmington pumpkin patch open through Halloween

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The 25th annual pumpkin patch opened Saturday at the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Wilmington.

Now through Halloween you can buy orange, white, or green colored pumpkins in a variety of sizes.

This is an annual fundraiser for the youth ministries and missions of the church.

Associate Pastor Mary Frances McClure says pumpkin prices range from 50 cents to 20 dollars but the life skills the kids are learning is priceless.

“Our students learn things like customer service, and how to deal with the public,” said McClure. “They are the ones that get to price the pumpkins. They also learn a lot about hard work because we have to have a long line of people carrying pumpkins off the truck.”

The patch will be open 9am to 7pm Monday through Saturday and 12pm to 7pm on Sundays.

The church says they are looking for volunteers to help out. Click here to find out how to get involved.
