Wilmington Riverfest makes preparations ahead of Saturday opening

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington’s annual Riverfest will kick off this weekend. 

The festival has already set up the stage in the Cape Fear Community College lot on Hanover Street.  

Parking meters have also been covered up where parking will not be allowed.  

Arts and craft vendors will line North Front Street with the festival kicking off at 10 a.m. 

Wilmington Riverfest president Roderick Bell said the festival has a stacked lineup. 

“During the day we have bands that are gone be performing, we’re also going to have the kid’s zone area. We also have the car display that’s going to be happening, BMX bike show, and then we’re going to close the night out with a drone show tomorrow at 8:30,” Roderick said.
