Wilmington taxes could be on the rise

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)  — Wilmington City Council heard the details of the city’s proposed budget Tuesday night. The proposal includes a 2.5-cent tax increase.

Most of that would go to pay for the voter approved transportation bond. The rest would go to offset cuts made by the General Assembly.

City Council won’t approve the budget until next month.

The work on transportation project that was approved by voters has already begun.
