WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — On Friday, the Wilmington Urban Area MPO and the City’s Comprehensive Planning team are transforming two parking spaces for a deeper meaning.

The city says, two parking spaces near Bijou Park on Front Street will become a temporary mini parklet to show how street space can be used for people, gathering, and creativity instead of just cars.

Residents are encouraged to stop by to learn and discuss about how choosing alternative transportation instead of driving options can help make downtown more welcoming and accessible.

The Greater Wilmington Downtown Plan team and Go Coast will be on-site with mobility-focused engagement activities.
