WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — One woman faces charges following an early morning shooting in Wilmington.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the 500 block of N. 30th Street early Wednesday morning.

Officers later caught Alicia Ramos, 33, who was speeding away from the scene.

During the stop, police learned that two women had shown up at Novant NHRMC with gunshot wounds. Their injuries are not life threatening.

Ramos was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious injury, Fail to Heed Light/Siren, Resist/Delay/Obstruct Public Officers, and Possession of Firearm by Felon.

Ramos was given no bond and is currently in the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
