Wilmington woman arrested on drug charges after traffic stop

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department arrested a woman on Tuesday night on drug charges after a traffic stop.
According to police, officers conducted a traffic stop near North 30th Street and Hurst Street after a vehicle failed to dim its headlights.
The driver, Latonia Ramirez, 45, was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest.
During the stop, officers observed Ramirez holding three heroin bindles in her hand. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a crack pipe, crack cocaine, and additional drug paraphernalia.
Ramirez was taken into custody and charged with:
- Manufacture Cocaine
- Felony Possession of Cocaine
- Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (PDP)
- Driving While License Revoked (DWLR)
- Failure to Dim Headlights
- Failure to Appear on Misdemeanor
She was booked into the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center under a $15,100 secured bond.
