Wilmington women arrested after allegedly breaking into vehicle

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington police have arrested a woman for allegedly breaking into a vehicle on South 17th Street.

According to police, officers were called to the 1600 block of South 17th around 4:00 a.m. Monday morning and caught the suspect after a short chase.

Officers found Nya Franks, 25, with heroin, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Franks is charged with breaking or entering a motor vehicle, resisting/delaying/obstructing public officerspossessing drug paraphernalia, felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, and possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance.

Franks is being held at the NHSO Detention Center without bond.
