Wilmington Women arrested on firearm offenses

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington woman was arrested downtown on firearm charges.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers in the downtown area heard gunshots coming from the area of Front and Market St. The streets were crowded with pedestrians who were fleeing the area early on New Year’s morning.
Officers quickly located Daknotica Randolph, 20, standing at Front and Market Street. Daknotica was challenged by officers at gunpoint. She complied and was quickly placed under arrest.
Randolph was placed under a $10,000 secure bond and transported to the New Hanover County Jail and has since bonded out.
The 0 block of S. Front Street was closed for approximately one hour while evidence was collected. There were no victims struck by gunfire. The firearm used by Randolph was seized as evidence.
