Wilmington’s Cargo District breaks ground on a food court

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Cargo District has been a Wilmington staple over the past few years and it’s finding ways to get creative and draw more people in.

The Cargo District houses local businesses and features food hubs. The latest project is a food court.

Owner of the Crafted Outpost Rachael Kinsey said the new addition will include seven restaurants and maybe even a few more surprises.

She said she does know that vendors for the food court are still being considered. She said she has been a part of the process since the beginning.

“It’s been great to see the Cargo District expand and grow over the past three years. I know that this has been a plan for a couple of years now,” Kinsey said. “It’s just giving more locals an opportunity to start their businesses or expand their businesses over time.”

Kinsey wanted to remind people that the Cargo District holds their monthly market on the first Sunday of every month.
