Catching up with Connor Barth in Charlotte after regular season finale

CHARLOTTE, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington native Connor Barth wrapped up another NFL season on Sunday. He wrapped it up  in Charlotte in front of thousands of Carolina Panther fans and 55 of his best family & friends. Barth scored the first points of the game on Sunday with a field goal, but the Panthers responded with a resounding 38-10 win over Tampa Bay.

In a way it was a short year for Connor Barth. He started the regular season out of work, but he got picked up by Tampa Bay in early October. In all Barth attempted 28 field goals. He made 23. This was all in a year where he got dropped by Denver and Tampa Bay before being picked up. It’s not the first time Barth has seen highs and lows. “I think I may have to write a book about it because it has been a couple crazy years,” Barth said on Sunday after the season ending loss in Charlotte. “You just have to be blessed for being able to put on the uniform though. There are a lot of people that would love to do what you do. It’s pretty cool to be able to go out there and kick and being able to come home for the last game in North Carolina is fun and we just have to keep working and get ready for next year.”

Where will Connor Barth take his golden leg next season? “You just never know. You can only control what you control. If it’s not here, then hopefully it’s somewhere else. Hopefully I’ll stay in Tampa, but you just never know.”
