Wilmington’s Derek Brunson’s next fight will be against Uriah Hall
HIDALGO, TX (MMA JUNKIE) — The fights keep coming for UFC Fight Night 94 as a quartet of fights has been announced to join the now official headliner between Michael Johnson and Dustin Poirier.
UFC Fight Night 94 takes place Sept. 17 at State Farm Arena in Hidalgo. The card is likely to air on FS1 and stream on UFC Fight Pass. Hidalgo is located on the Rio Grande just across the border from Mexico. The city has a population of a little more than 11,000 people, which will make it one of the smallest cities the UFC will have ever visited.
The UFC website announced a co-main event between middleweights Derek Brunson (15-3 MMA, 6-1 UFC) and Uriah Hall (12-6 MMA, 5-4 UFC). Also announced was a lightweight bout between Evan Dunham (17-6 MMA, 10-6 UFC) and Abel Trujillo (15-6 MMA, 6-2 UFC), Manny Gamburyan (15-9 MMA, 6-7 UFC) taking on Alejandro Perez (17-6 MMA, 3-1 UFC) at bantamweight and Gabriel Benitez (18-5 MMA, 2-1 UFC) facing Sam Sicilia (15-6 MMA, 5-5 UFC) in a featherweight bout.
Brunson is currently ranked No. 10 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA middleweight rankings. He is riding a four-fight winning streak that includes first-round knockout wins in his three most recent bouts.
