Wilmington’s MLK Center hosts adults with disabilities Easter egg hunt
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — People are still smiling after an annual Easter egg hunt in New Hanover County on Wednesday.
This Easter event for adults with disabilities took place during lunchtime in Wilmington at the MLK Community Center. Dozens of adults from across the Cape Fear came out with their care takers and families.
There were games, crafts, and of course an egg hunt with more than a hundred eggs to be gathered.
Mary Jones is the Recreation Supervisor at the MLK Center. She said she looks forward to the center hosting this event every year.
“I just like to give everyone the opportunity, give everyone the opportunity, of great recreation, great participation — on behalf of the city of Wilmington — showing that we are an inclusive culture,” Jones said.
Attendees also had an Easter themed photo shoot while dancing and singing along to music.
