Winter storm aftermath sends drivers to the car wash
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Although the snow from earlier this week has melted, the winter storm left behind a dirty trail. Many cars lined up today at Hall of Fame car wash in Leland. From the busy wash cycles to the full vacuuming lots, people were motivated to clean their cars due to the winter storm this past weekend that caked cars with brine, salt, and dirt.
That prompted George Granger who is a retired Brunswick County EMS Captain, to wash his car.
“The recent events you know, definitely had a need of keeping the vehicles clean, we had a lot of grime that was on it and everything like that from the snow at the house and travelling to work, things like that”, said Granger.
Experts say salt left on a car or truck after a winter storm can accelerate rust on metal components and it can be especially harmful to the undercarriage of your vehicle.
