‘Wish Upon a Chef’ pays tribute to local chefs while raising funds for Make-A-Wish

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)– Folks in the Port City came out tonight to support the Make-A-Wish of Eastern North Carolina.

The ‘Wish Upon a Chef’ event pays tribute to local chefs while raising funds to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. The fundraiser was hosted by actor and comedian Orlando Jones and radio personality Jackie Jordan. A sold out crowd came out to the Hilton riverside tonight, all to support a good cause.

Kristen Johnson, the Make-A-Wish Eastern NC President, gave us some insight about the organization.”We grant 200 wishes a year, and our wishes emotionally heal the kids that we work with. It gives them hope and strength and joy, and gives them something to look forward to in a very dark time during their lives.”

More than 300 people attended the sold out ‘Wish Upon a Chef’ event. Several local chefs and restaurants participated in the fundraiser.
