Woman arrested after signing for alleged marijuana delivery
EVERGREEN, NC (WWAY) – A woman faces several charges after receiving a package of marijuana in the mail, according to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office.
A news release says the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Vice-Narcotics Unit, along with Fayetteville police, intercepted a package containing about eighteen pounds of marijuana after it was delivered to a package distribution center in Fayetteville.
The package was then delivered to 3034 Macedonia Church Road in Evergreen.
The Sheriff’s Office says Raelynn Smith, 24, signed for the package.
After the package was delivered, the sheriff’s office searched her home. They seized the package of marijuana and arrested Smith.
Smith is charged with Maintaining Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Use, Sale, or Storage of CS Substance, Possession with the Intent to Manufacture/Sell and/or Deliver Schedule VI CS, and Trafficking in Marijuana
She is in jail under a $60,000 bond.
