Woman charged with driving 100 mph, DWI


BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick County deputies arrested a woman over the weekend after she wouldn’t stop and drove at extremely high speed.

Around 2:55 a.m. Saturday a deputy stopped a 2012 Mercedes in the Oxpen Road/Holden Beach Road area of Supply, according to BCSO spokeswoman Emily Flax. Megan Leigh Rogers, 20, of Lumberton, is charged with DWI, consuming alcohol under 21, speeding 100 mph in a 55mph zone, careless and reckless driving, open container and failing to heed blue lights and sirens.

Flax said more details about what happened were not immediately available.
