PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — One woman faces charges following a deadly crash on NC 210 back in June.
State troopers say it began when a car driven by Daionna Jones hit a disabled vehicle that was stopped in the roadway in Pender County.
Investigators say the second vehicle had broken down and another car had pulled up to help jump-start it. Several people were standing nearby when the crash happened.
According to the crash report, Jones’ vehicle hit the back of the disabled car, pushing it forward into the pedestrians and then into the vehicle parked ahead.
One of the pedestrians, Adam Brinson, was critically injured and later died from his injuries.
Jones is charged with Misdemeanor Death by Vehicle and Failure to Reduce Speed. She is out of jail on a 10-thousand dollar bond.
