IRONHILL, NC (WWAY) — Deputies responded to a shots fired incident that left a woman injured Wednesday night.

According to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a shooting at 70 Rolan Boulevard. When deputies arrived, they found Tangela McKinnon suffering from a graze wound caused by a bullet.

McKinnon reported that she and her boyfriend, Ronnie Smith, were in bed when gunfire struck their residence. McKinnon indicated that the incident may be connected to her son, Mr. LaQuintin Floyd, who had received threatening messages via Snapchat after posting a memorial photo of his late ex-girlfriend.

The threats included warnings not to attend the funeral and a threat to harm him. Mr. Floyd reported hearing the gunfire while at a neighboring address and returning home upon learning that his mother had been injured.
