World premiere of Air Angels docu-series held in Fayatteville
FAYETTEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — A new docuseries highlighting some unsung heroes who helped Western North Carolina following Hurricane Helene premiered Tuesday in Fayetteville.
The premiere of Air Angels: Flight Helene was held at the Cameo Art House Theatre.
It was produced by the Wilmington-based production company Just Do Good Entertainment.
One of the pilots who flew supplies to western North Carolina was Wilmington cardiologist Craig McCotter, who flew his own helicopter to get to cut off areas.
Doctor McCotter said he is proud of everyone who played a role in the recovery.
“The story of this is the story of hundreds, if not thousands of people,” McCotter said. “I feel blessed to be a part of it, even though my contribution was probably the smallest out of anybody’s out there. But the stories that I met, the stories I heard, the people that I met, the events that occurred are absolutely amazing and I look forward to hearing and seeing the film.”
The series is 5 episodes long and will be available to stream next spring.
