WPD arrests man accused of July murder

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) —  Wilmington police arrested a man connected to a July murder.

Cpl. Leslie Irving said a special task force served the arrest warrant to Antonio Horton Beatty, 21, Saturday. She said the arrest is in connection to a murder last month on Metting Road. Irving said on July 21 Carlton Whitley died from a gunshot wound.

Beatty is in jail without bond until his court appearance on Tuesday.
