WPD arrest man on drug charges, seized 250+ grams of cocaine

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department arrested Verrick Black, 40, Monday following a four month long narcotics investigation.

Police say they seized 194 grams of crack cocaine and 63 grams of powder cocaine during a traffic stop.

Black, of Whiteville, was charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine, resist obstruct/delay arrest and speeding.

Black has prior convictions for second degree murder, numerous narcotics violations and possession of stolen property.  He was given a $500,000 bond.
