WPD describes suspect’s car following hit-and-run injuring bicyclist

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department released information on the suspect’s vehicle from a hit-and-run November 5th.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a 2018 or 2019 Jeep Wrangler that is missing its passenger side mirror.

Around 7:26 p.m., WPD officers responded to a report of a bicyclist struck in the 4200 block of Independence Boulevard.

When officers arrived, they located a man who had sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle. The driver fled the scene.

The victim is still being treated for serious injuries according to the police department after they were transported to the hospital following the crash.
