WPD investigates armed robbery at business, sends 2 to hospital

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)– Lt. Kevin Johnson with the Wilmington Police Department says they are investigating an armed robbery after two people were sent to the hospital Saturday night.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. at 1602 North 4th Street at a business. There are several businesses in that building. Johnson could not confirm the name of the business.

Two people were sent to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Johnson says the police department is investigating the armed robbery, but at this point there are no suspects.

Johnson says the case is a first degree burglary and an armed robbery.
