WPD investigating after guns, electronics stolen from inside home

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police are investigating after they say someone stole several guns and electronics from inside a Wilmington home Tuesday.

Wilmington Police say they got the call just before 4:30 p.m. from a resident reporting that several items were missing from his home in the 2100 block of Dexter Street. They say when the man returned to his home shortly before calling 911, he discovered that three guns, a TV and an Xbox were missing from inside.

When police showed up to the scene to search and secure the area there, officers found that the back door had been forced open. Police say they believe the items were taken some time between 9:30 a.m. and 4:20 p.m. Tuesday.
