WPD investigating deadly shooting
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department is investigating a shooting from Saturday that killed one man.
According to police, units responded to the 500 block of Minnow Way just after 5:00 p.m. on Saturday to an altercation where shots had been fired.
When officers arrived, they detained a male suspect who had previously fired his gun multiple times at another man. The two men had been in an argument prior to the shooting.
Law enforcement personnel performed life-saving measures on Robert Sessoms, 27, until EMS arrived. Despite efforts to help him, he later died from his injuries.
