WPD investigating fatal bicycle crash
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department says they’re investigating a fatal crash involving a bicycle.
Just before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, the Wilmington Police Department responded to the 6900 block of Market Street after reports of a bicyclist being struck by a vehicle.
Officers located the adult male lying in the roadway when they arrived.
A nearby witness began lifesaving measures immediately but the bicyclist died on the scene.
The victim’s identity has not been released yet but will be after next of kin is notified.
The investigation remains on-going.
