WPD investigating shooting on Greendale Drive
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday evening in the 200 block of Greendale Drive.
Around 7:38 p.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the area. When they entered the residence, they found a 17-year-old male victim. He was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries and listed in stable condition.
Officers determined the shooting occurred in the backyard of the residence following an altercation with multiple juveniles.
A K9 unit tracked and confirmed a possible direction of travel on foot, which help investigators find evidence.
At this time, no arrests have been made, and the victim did not cooperate with detectives.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact WPD or submit and anonymous tip through the Tip 411 app.
