WPD: Man yells for mom trying to escape officers
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police say a man is in jail under a $1 million bond after he was found with a stolen moped. Police say the arrest didn’t happen quickly as the man ran inside a home, yelling for his mom.
Police say just after midnight Wednesday in the area of S. 13th Street, officers attempted to stop Emmanuel Dewayne Taylor, 35, on a moped and he refused. Police say after that he ran into a home and called out for his mom. After a short time, police were given permission to go inside the home and arrest Taylor.
Taylor is facing charges including possession of a stolen vehicle, reckless driving and resist/delay/obstruct an officer. His bond was set at $1 million due to prior offenses, police said.
