WPD: Murder suspect captured after foot chase, another remains at large

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A 27-year-old man wanted in connection with a recent homicide is in police custody after a foot chase Thursday morning. Dylan Inman, who was spotted by a Wilmington Police Department officer, was apprehended following a brief pursuit. He is facing charges of murder in the death of 63-year-old Cedric Adkins, whose body was found last week in a wooded area near Hurst and Clay Street.
Law enforcement has been actively searching for Inman and another suspect, Marissa Reynolds, who is still at large. Officers, along with local and state law enforcement agencies, have conducted ground and aerial searches in the wooded area near Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and Kerr Avenue in an attempt to locate Reynolds.
The homicide investigation began Friday afternoon when officers responded to a possible medical emergency call near Hurst and Clay Street. Upon arrival, they discovered a man’s body in the woods.
Two other people charged in the case made their first court appearances Tuesday. Tyler Collins and Austin Ziglar face 1st degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon charges.
