WPD officers assisting feds at Wilmington business

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington Police spokesperson said some of their officers are assisting federal investigators at a Wilmington business.

The Howard’s Seafood and Convenience Store at 501 Castle Street was closed off with crime scene tape Friday afternoon. A few agents were searching a van in the parking lot, but others were inside the business as well.

A WPD spokeswoman said it was an IRS investigation; calls to the spokesperson for that department have not been returned.
