WPD on scene of accident involving cyclist

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police and emergency crews are at the scene of an accident involving a pickup truck and male bicyclist.

According to a WPD spokesperson, officers were called around 5:15pm Monday afternoon to the area of Eastwood Road and Cardinal Drive.

At this point, it is unclear what caused the collision. The cyclist’s injuries are believed to be non life-threatening.

There are no lanes closures, but the investigation is expected to cause traffic delays in the area.
