WRAAP to celebrate youth achievements with graduation ceremony in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington’s Residential Adolescent Achievement Place will host a graduation ceremony next month to honor local youth who have completed its After School Enrichment Academy program.
The ceremony is scheduled for May 11 at 4 p.m. at Freedom’s Way Ministries and will recognize participants for successfully meeting program requirements while celebrating their academic and personal growth.
The event will feature a keynote address from James H. Faison III, who serves in the 5th Judicial District Court.
Organizers say the ceremony is not only a milestone for students, but also an opportunity to thank parents, volunteers, and community members for their ongoing support.
“Here at WRAAP, we believe success demands constant achievement and personal involvement is the key to academic and social change,” the organization said in a statement.
WRAAP is an award-winning 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has earned both state and national recognition for its work with at-risk youth in New Hanover County. Its mission focuses on bridging educational and social gaps among young people, families, and the broader community.
Community members are encouraged to attend and show their support for the program’s graduates.
