Wrightsville Beach Police and Fire Host Blood Drive

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) –The Wrightsville Beach Police and Fire Departments recently hosted a blood drive. The American Red Cross was there collecting blood donations.

One of the donors, Steven Edgerton, who is O-negative, is now on his fourth gallon of blood donated. “We had the hurricane out west, in the western part of the state. I gave a pint of blood for that, and now we’ve got the stuff going on in California. Gave a pint for that. You know, I can’t give a whole lot of money, but I can give blood. I mean, we rebuild blood all the time.”

Another opportunity to donate is coming up with WWAY’s upcoming blood drive. It will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at our Event Center, located at 1224 Magnolia Village Way, Leland.
