WWAY EXCLUSIVE: Enchanting Airlie

Anyone who has ever been there knows what a treasure our area has with Airlie Gardens. Seeing the thousands of blooms in the spring, especially around the Azalea Festival, is truly a sight to be seen. But rarely has anyone seen Airlie Gardens like it was Saturday.

The New Hanover County-owned property was closed to guests after about four inches of snow fell. But that doesn’t mean you won’t get a chance to see the Airlie as a winter wonderland.

WWAY’s Kevin Wuzzardo was the only photographer allowed inside Airlie’s gates after the snow fell. He captured rarely seen images of the majestic Airlie Oak and the Bottle House blanketed in snow.
