WWAY’s 5th Quarter with co-host Kevin Motsinger; BB&T Jamboree coverage

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Former New Hanover football coach Kevin Motsinger joined WWAY’s John Rendleman in the 5th Quarter studio Friday night for the first 5th Quarter of 2016. Check out our coverage from the 30th Annual BB&T Jamboree.

South Columbus 7, North Brunswick 0
South Columbus scored on the last play of the scrimmage with a quarterback keeper from Robby Spencer.

Wallace-Rose Hill 7, New Hanover 0
This was another low-scoring affair also. New Hanover gave Wallace-Rose Hill good field position early on and the Bulldogs took advantage of it with their running game to put points on the board early.

Laney 20, Whiteville 6
It took awhile for Laney to get it going on offense, but once they did they put away against the Wolfpack with Sherod Sidbury and Imeek Watkins teaming up for the Bucs.

Ashley 16, South Brunswick 0
Two touchdowns and a pair of two-point conversions for Ashley. The Screaming Eagles shutout the Cougars.

Hoggard 21, West Brunswick 14
Did they save the best for last? Perhaps. Typically the football fans tend to leave before the finale. For the ones that stayed this one was prime time ready. The Vikings and Trojans were tied at 7, then tied at 14, before Hoggard pulled it out in the end.

Final team score: 57-34 ( Wilmington schools over the out of town schools )
