WWAY’s Team of the Week – New Hanover

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The football squad at New Hanover High is this week’s WWAY Farm Bureau Insurance at Mayfaire Team of the Week recipient. New Hanover defeated Laney last Friday 35-21 to improve their Mideastern Conference record to 2-1.

It was an impressive win. Better yet, it marked the second victory in a row for the Wildcats and head coach Kevin Motsinger. “We’re a better football team right now than we were last week or two weeks ago.” Motsinger told WWAY. “We’re starting to get some guys back that we’ve been missing. You don’t want to take chihuauhas to the Kentucky Derby and we’re starting to get some of those thoroughbreds back.”
