SOUTHEASTERN, NC (WWAY) — The YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina announces the launch of its expanded Summer Food Service Program for 2025.

Beginning Tuesday and continuing through August, this initiative aims to provide free meals to children aged 18 and under across rural communities in southeastern North Carolina.

Children will receive food boxes containing seven days’ worth of breakfasts and lunches. The boxes adhere to USDA guidelines and contain the five components of a balanced meal including fruit, vegetables, whole grains, a meat/meat alternative, and milk.
