Youth flag football coach gives back to community
PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — One non-profit organization in Pender County collected donations for a food drive during their Sunday flag football game.
J Kemp is the president of Poseidon Elite Athletics in Hampstead. It is a youth athletic training organization, but he tries to always do his part to give back to the community.
Kemp also teaches the kids he coaches how important it is to do good deeds. This week they collected items for a local food bank, Share the Table.
“There’s nothing better than giving back to our community,” Kemp said. “So we’re trying to teach the kids that you know the parents have supported us, the community has supported us, the more we do. So we need to give back to the community, so that’s what we’re all about.”
Kemp hopes to continue to be a role model for the youth in his community. He plans to have a clothing drive soon and wants to continue serving other charities in the area.
